The gap between the Capaldi and Whittaker eras of Doctor Who has really caught up with the Tour, and perhaps understandably so. This site was birthed in the long night which separated the 1996 TVM and Rose nearly nine years later, so we’re used to a lack of impelling force.
Still we we’re shaken from our ennui by the announcement of three “companions” for Jodie Whittaker’s first series. Of the three the Tour is most familiar with Bradley Walsh, not only for his appearance in the SJA story “Day of the Clown” but also for his long stint in Law and Order UK, though it seems from the western side of the Atlantic he’s better known as a comedian and show presenter.
Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole we confess we’re less familiar with, but that didn’t stop us from putting together some nifty, if belated, galleries for each of the newcomers. Having three “companions” suggests something even more Earth-bound than the recent Capaldi mix.
We’ll just have to wait, until late next year, to find out.
