While we here at the Tour normally save our Countdown of the Christmas Specials (or even episodes taking place at Christmas) for even-numbered years, it’s worth remembering just how many of these exist, most of them nu-Who of course but there’s a couple from the classic series to consider as well.
And there’s something for almost every taste as well. Episodes drawing heavily on Christmas tradition? Done. Spectacle for it’s own sake? Yep. Episodes that don’t really have anything to do with Christmas. Covered. And then there are the regeneration (or adjacent) stories. Three of those too. We have the count (generously) down at 13. Here’s our list from best to worst. That should be enough to keep even the most ardent Doctor Who fans busy for the holiday.
