Modern Recap-itulation gets back in the swing of things with a fresh set of HDelicious caps for The Unicorn and the Wasp. Last time when The Shakespeare Code was re-capped author Gareth Roberts was playing more with character than form. In The Unicorn and the Wasp Roberts attempts to co-opt the form of a drawing room mystery in addition to the character work going on. It’s playful certainly, but in so doing, The Unicorn and the Wasp tries to have it both ways and doesn’t necessarily succeed at either.
But that doesn’t really matter in the end for The Unicorn and the Wasp is just tons of fun. Plus any story with the great Christopher Benjamin in it has the Tour Seal of Approval.
The heat is most definitely on when Modern Recap-itulation reconvenes … next time.
