Who would’ve thought that the first ‘new’ Who (in the most generous sense of the word) in 2026 would be a William Hartnell story, or at least a (small) part of one.
For the first time since episodes of The Enemy of the World and The Web of Fear were recovered in 2013, two episodes (episodes 1 & 2) of The Daleks Master Plan have been returned to the archives. The Daleks Master Plan was the apotheosis of Dalek-mania–all wrapped up in a 12-part epic tale which bridged 1965 to 1966 alternately written by Dennis Spooner and Terry Nation. The recovery now means 5 out 12 episodes exist. A great average in baseball, but rather abysmal in any other context.
